Happy New Year! 2010
Snow , snow and more snow! Back from winter holidays our topic has been snowmen and other winter activities. I recommend this book highly. 'How Big is a Million" It has introduced our elementary school students to really BIG numbers and they are enjoying the challenge. Our littler members have been reviewing body parts and clothing with How to build a snowman.
2009 Recently in our kids classes we have been talking about African animals and other zoo animals. The children have been singing, reciting poems and are now making their own books about an animal of their choice. A great place to look at animals is the National Geographic Website

Since February we have discussed the famous red-carpet event the Academy Awards also known as the Oscars. The movie Slumdog Millionaire was highly acclaimed. Also in the news from America was the rare case of a woman gave birth to octuplets. That's eight babies all alive and well.
Recently we've been pondering on "What is the best job in the world?" Do you like your job? Does your job give you enough time? enough money? enough satisfaction? enough room for creativity?
